Just a quick update to say ive placed a small bet tonight on a horse at doncaster in the sprint handicap.Tabaret is well suited to this course and has won here twice previously back down to a mark of 84 now which is certainly one he can win off,has not shown a great deal so far this season on his 2 runs back but im hopeful a return to these conditions should see him come back to himself and a double figure price is fair I think in a race where a few either find it hard to win with or may just need the outing still.

WELL THE PRICE ON MR NOBODY HAS JUST HALVED IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES PERSONALLY I ONLY MANAGED TO GET ON AT 10/1 WIN OR LOSE HE WILL GO DOWN AS A SELECTION AT SP ONLY TO BE FAIR BUT IF YOU WAS STILL THINKING ON GETTING INVOLVED I WOULD LEAVE WELL ALONE NOW AS PRICE IS JUST A JOKE NOW.
Despite not jumping with to much fluency it was not enough to stop shake the barley winning at decent odds frustrating to miss out on another winner but nice to see at the sam etime that have not completly lost the plot with race reading recently.Exotic man is another that probably showed to much when giving the fav plan a a scare in the race before.Invincible lad probbaly stays under the radar a little more though after his effort he confirmed he needs shorter for me here and will be winning a race soon I think,Ive also taken a couple more from that event.Ours did his usual thing and im sure he will pick something up soon at a decent price.

I can undertsnad why carlton scroop will have his supporters in such a weak race but I dont get why you would want to be getting involved at his current odds.I think this race lacks depth overall and top achiever showed more than enough lto over similar conditions to suggest he could be upto winning more races again.Down a few lbs for that run and more significantly this is a much weaker race jockey is capable enough and seems to get on well with him so not to manay worries there and suprised in the price if im honest.

Im certain the paddy premium is going to imprve for this step up in trip his new trainer has wasted no time upping him to this distance and thats the key to this one being a selection today.cayo levantado is fav due to connections and columbus secret won a very poor race lto.I dont think this is that strong a race and I think the selction is a fair price.

Yesterday was much more promising for myself despite no profit on the day genrally the horses I mentioned ran there races and I felt much more comfortable with things.No selections today for me but do have a few brief thoughts.
4.30 perth
Happy to be against plan a here who has not really gone on for me as some expected and is fairly short today for a horse who only has one solid piece of form,One who should be betetr than his mark although might not be capable at this level is exotic man he showed promise on decent ground in a novice hurdle at doncaster and ill be suprised if he does not win a couple of races.
5.05 perth
This looks tough if im honest Im very respectful of the top horses chances here and there are also a couple that could bounce back to form.Shake the barley has needed this step up in trip for a while now and whilst I expect him to run a decent race and improve on recent form his jumping needs to holds up again and I think this maybe a little to strong for him.
3.30 ponte

Racing in england today is pretty moderate stuff so deceided to cocentrate my efforts on the fairyhouse card which has a few decent graded events today and a couple of selections.

Market seems a little out here starting with the fav rigidity who has the ability but now comes with a few question marks after such a poor performance lto he could well bounce back but at the likely odds he looks poor value.Twinlight has to be respected but again others little appeal appeal at the prices.Chaperoned finished ahead of my selection lto but there is good reason to expect a reversal of that form now we see rocky wednesday racing on ground he is going to find much more to his liking.I cant understand why this is not a couple of points shorter this morning.plenty of scope for further improvement still and should go close.

It really is a case of something for everyone today,with so much racing I think it’s more important than ever that you specialise on your strongest races that you feel most confident of success with.Ive hit a bit of a bad recently and whilst im confident things will come right in the end,Along with that blog viewings have fallen considerably and its made me look at how to continue moving things forward after the initial success with things. To use a racing term im probably best fresh and recently the whole process of taking the night out to look at the next days racing day in day out has affected things the last month or so, the write ups have been smaller as well due to time restraints and basically I think continuing as things are will not helium not going to be making drastic changes to the way I look at things but basically I’m only going to posting now when I’ve really got something to say about the days racing and when I’ve had the quality time to spend on the cards and hopefully this will help in bringing the blog results back into success.
Plenty I like about today racing hopefully I’ve made the right choices with selections id also put nobody off combining the ones ive left as mentions in some small mulitples as they have only been turned down due to prices.

I think the markets slightly out here and that’s probably mainly down to the Nicholls Walsh factor with sancuitaire not much actually puts me off him but it’s the strong credentials of clerks choice that has me thinking he should be the odds on fav here.CC is best on a fast surface and is well suited by small fields he looked a very classy horse in his races last autumn he would be my pick but at the same time I won’t be backing in such a small tactical event. I see market has now corrected overnight.

I think there are risks about a few and the one I like most at a fair price is Dominican monk, he not had much racing recently but when he has been seen in a aw bumper race he still showed enough ability not ran over hurdles for a while but looks fairly treated when you look at his overall record. Can go well fresh and 2mile on decent ground will be no issues. Mark has slipped to a fair one and hopeful of a good run.
330 kelashore bay looks like he has a race in him off this mark I also think however that matuhi will find this easier than recently hard to split so no bet at the prices.

The big decision here is whether to give toby jug another chance as for me personally vie been with him on his last 2 selections the fact connections are keen to run again so soon suggests to me they think he is fit and well.Im sure he is well treated when he finally gets his act together again and the price looks ok again today.

It’s probably best to start with haventgotascoobydoo who I have tracked for a long time now he’s still capable of winning from this mark but I’m not convinced todays conditions will play to his strengths and I’m happy to take on. Black phantom would be the next best to my selection but there is a doubt about the ground and I also think there is a better handicapped horse in the shape of a bridge to far the fact his last performance came over the same conditions as today only add to the confidence of another success today. Its top price 4/1 this morning though so I have to leave now in such tricky little race.
510 I’m finding it hard to split 2 here in the shape of yeoman spirit and perfect reward. I think one of these will win but both have strong claims and are similar priced in the market so can’t really find an angle to get involved at the moment.

Well I decided to take yesterday off mainly due to the poor run of things recently and the fact I could not really find the time I wanted to sort through what I thought a first glance a tricky card at Ayr.It proved to be yet another costly mistake.I had a couple of noted horses running in the shape of gilbary and last weeks selection beggars cap,well we all know what happend with both horses winning at decent odds and it just shows you really should stick with your methods.

Job one is intresting here especially against a favourite who looks over rated and under priced especially on ground this fast.Job one needs a decent trip on fast ground and the fact he fell in a race he would have struggled to win lto is probably not a bad thing as we get a fresh horse really today which when you look at his past record makes him even more appealing here.Officially he is 10lbs lowr rated here but i think that mark is underated at the moment and his proven ability under these conditions is more of positive anyway.
3.50 stratford
Maria Antonia could be intresting now 2nd run after a lay off.Had some decnet form a couple of years ago in slightly better races than this of higher marks showed nothing first time up but back round a course that suits and on dcecnt ground I can see her going well.Id be intrested especially she is prominent early and if possible I would wait to the start to see how it is likely she will race.

Leopard hills is normally one I jump at taking on but I very much respect in form horses on faster ground over summer jumps as you tend to find it can count for a lot more and the races tend to be that little bit less competetive.Thats sais he looks no value and the one im intrested in here is James pollard.Theres one run at ffos las taht suggests he looks well treated here,that run was the occasion he found himself racing on the least testing ground he has faced over hurdles so far.Today back on a decnet surface round a sharp 2mile we should see an improved performance he gone well recently on the flat,has been well suported this morning but still happy with around 6/1 with the chance he may drift a little latter on.

This looks pretty poor id be happy taking heargazer hes fav because he will run his race were a couple of these proabbly wont but I think there is a decent chance a couple will come back to there best form today.
the iron giant was back from a break lto over hurdles and will find things more suitable but katalak is off more intrest firstly we can foprget the recent form on soft ground thats only helped with the mark,his form on decnet ground is much better than anything else we have seen in the race and the fact we have felix de giles back on board and blinkers suggests today is the day we can expect him a return to form.Price is the issues for me though in such a poor event.

Weak race which does look that competive for me cornish castle has solid form for the grade and may improve on his run last time as well.I cant understand why this is not priced up around the 4/1 mark this morning.

Well yesterday happens from time to time plenty of noted horses i'n one day and again I picked the wrong ones and missed a couple of winners at the same time.just need to move on and trust the methods.
Today I have less interest Cheltenham looks tricky overall and just the one selection there.I've also having a small ew double on 2 at Newmarket The first a progressive type last backend and the 2nd looks a typical improver for his stable.

Totally messed yesterday up in the end going against my obvious 2 selections which both ended up winning and my 2 selections both in the end finishing unplaced I do think both my selections showed enough to suggest they will be winning soon you dont get payed out on thoose.
Decent couple of days action now with cheltenhams end of season meeting and for me when the flat starts to move up a gear a little at newmarkets opening meeting.

Couple of potential improvers here but im a fan off habbie simpson who shows a nice attitude expect he will be upto winning this now taking a considerable drop in grade before going on to be a decent chaser next season.

Galaxy rock is worth taking on here I think is probably flattered last time by staying on through beaten horses and I think ap will have to be at his best to get him jumping well enough to be involved here.Id be doubtful if amunition can put 2 decent runs back to back his profile suggests not an im hapy for him to be left out of things as well.Shammy buskins im sure is flattered for winning a weak race for the grade last time and of a much higher mark up in grade is another i think will struggle whilst both
regal approach and notabotheronme dont look in the best of form.
This leaves only toby jug and for me there is plenty in this ones favour today.I was at uttoxeter for there national day and he clearly needed the run taht day but showed up well for a time untill lack of race practice obviously caught up with he did show enough that day though to suggest he still had some ability i think.he is idelaly suited to these extreme distances and looks on a very fair mark now has won off much higher in the past aiden coleman has is 2 from 3 on the horse and the other run was a close 2nd over this course.I expect plenty more will catch on to him and i expect him well supported here.

Pretty moderate stuff but stravita has shown enough over winter to suggest she can win a race like this back on decent ground these tight tracks suit her well.She should be fav here for me only concern is the jockey does not leave her to make to much ground up again.she does not win that often though and I think the value has well and truly gone now.

Pretty moderate stuff but stravita has shown enough over winter to suggest she can win a race like this back on decent ground these tight tracks suit her well.She should be fav here for me only concern is the jockey does not leave her to make to much ground up again.she does not win that often though and I think the value has well and truly gone now.

Not all of yesterdays selctions ran as expected but it was nice to pick up on the winner of the grand national.Nothing appeals to much at ludlow or wincanton today I suppose I have to mention the snail who runs again at ludlow today if on a going day he can easily win today but he did not look happy again lto depsite being well supoorted maybe the smaller field will help.3 selections at ascot and hopeful of a winner or 2.

Firslty I think this years race is one of the most difficult of recent years to work out especially now we are seeing a reverse on some of the old previous long standing trends.The current shape of the race now offers more claims to a classier horse.I dont think there is any reason to not expect dont push it to run his race again and of all of last years runners he would be my pick I can see his price only going one way now and he is just to short already.My shortlist of 3 is the midnight club ,ballabriggs and finally skippers brig.I was impressed with tmc last time and he for me is the horse from that race most likely to be suited to this ground has top man on board for this race hes not had as many runs as most winners but for me he has had plenty of experience at a high level and surely ruby counts for a couple of runs.My next 2 both ran against each other lto and I find it hard to split these pair.Ballabriggs has looked a national type for along while now he jumps well and will be one of only a few that will like this ground his handicap form looks solid and his connections sure now how to bring one here.Skippers brig has done most of his racing on softer ground but hes a tough genuine type who is an intresting on breeding lines hes not short of class himself and gets in off a nice weight.The probably has to be how to stake here everyone has there own preference and ill leave it to them but the 6 places with vc makes plenty of appeal.

I cant see why ghiazao will reverse form with finnains rainbow on this ground and as long as we see the same horse as cheltenham I cant see how he will be beaten,Im sure there are worse odds on shots through the season.

Binocular comes here the fresh horse but id be happy to take him on over this trip against 2 horses who are probably ideally suited to this distance.Im a big fan of oscar whisky and I expect him to run pedlers cross close again today .Pedlers cross however is as tough as they come ran well at wintree last season which offers faith he will run to his form again today and I cant see past him.

Not much went right for me yesterday again,I dont think im doing to much wrong so its just a case of keeping at it and hopefully things can turn around pretty soon.

Whilst plenty can be given chances I dont think this will prove to be a true grade 2 hurdle.Topolski is the obvious starting point comes here unbeaten afetr 2 impressive performances and whilst he could improve again there are horses here who have better proven form.A media luz has not doen enough for me to warrant her price despite recieving the allowances and of the market leaders sire de grugy would be my choice good form lto and still on the upgrade.The horse I want to be with though is desert cry who looks fair value at a double figure price on the form he has achieved recently.He was very impressive at sedgfield on testing ground before stepping up to graded level lto he ran respectably that day despite things not really suit9ing him that day the form has been well franked and I expect another improved performance on a track that should play to this horses strengths.
2.30 radium looks overpriced here I think the jewson at cheletnham will turn out to be a decent piece of form already advertised yesterday with wishful thinking.On that run he has little to find with the market leaders here and I also think this trip is required now.This is always a true test but you still need an athletic type that travels for me,for that reason id be against wayward prince and the giant bolster as I can see them both running on to late.Im not convinced with robinson collonges or master of the hall really and quito de la rogue surely needs softer ground,I therefore have the improving golan way as the danger from the front.

I think baby run will struggle over these fences with his inexperienced jockey you could see what was going to happen at cheltenham before it did.turko has fallen over these as well so happy to take him on as well at current odds.Moncadou has been aimed at this all season again comes here fresh and well with solid previous experience and stands out for me.Fort view is a nice improveing type which cant be said about most of these and I will be having a small saver.
415 leos lucky star has the perfect profile of previous winners and looks to be progressing well.solid run lto and should be more to come over a track which will suit him more than cheltenham.The other pipe horse is the problem here as mamlook despite being out the weights could be well treated with decnet jockey taking 5lbs off.Showed he was getting his act together over fences last time and likely more to come now.both are not value at there prices though so of the bigger priced runners I give beggars cap a decent chance won over this cd and comes here fresher than most.is out the weights but he is the most likely to cause a surprise for me. I cant have sports line not shown enough this season dont like the nicholls pair at the prices,im deliah can make mistakes whilst oiseau de nuit will probably struggle now of this mark.

Another poor day for the blog selections yesterday with vamizi ending up falling and if im honest he never looked happy before that, he made a couple of mistakes at the first 2 fences and also got bumped into at one and It was obviously not his true running.Mauricetheathlete at least rewarded the place part of the bet staying on again late into 2nd he never looked like winning at any point during the race hurdled badly at times and did not look happy on the ground.The same cant be said though about the winner sir keesbah who clearly did improve a few lbs for it but I also think he was flattered as many did not run upto form.Hidden keel again showed he is a horse of some ability and his win never looked in doubt really,maybe I should just lump on the short ones??
4 flat cards today and whilst Im spending most my free time looking ahead to Aintree I think its not a bad time to just mention my plans for the summer.The jumps will continue as and when we have meetings but I do very much want to keep that seperate and hopefully I can get the results turning in the right way again soon and that will always be my main area of focuss.
I will however be looking at the flat cards when time allows,I will be keeping this as seperate account as generally my bets are of a smaller scale and I tend to play as part of a portfolio using other resources of information.

The fav has a little to much to prove here for me at the prices,secret asset looks solid in the market but I think others have better form.Captain dunne is likely to be involved needs a carrer best to win I think today and expect he is more likely to follow my selection home in the places.five star junior has ran well recently and in 2 a/w listed events and whilst they may be slightly weaker events than this I think his style of racing is better suited to a turf track like this has the form to take this already in the bag and cant see not being involved.

4 flat cards today and whilst Im spending most my free time looking ahead to Aintree I think its not a bad time to just mention my plans for the summer.The jumps will continue as and when we have meetings but I do very much want to keep that seperate and hopefully I can get the results turning in the right way again soon and that will always be my main area of focuss.
I will however be looking at the flat cards when time allows,I will be keeping this as seperate account as generally my bets are of a smaller scale and I tend to play as part of a portfolio using other resources of information.

The fav has a little to much to prove here for me at the prices,secret asset looks solid in the market but I think others have better form.Captain dunne is likely to be involved needs a carrer best to win I think today and expect he is more likely to follow my selection home in the places.five star junior has ran well recently and in 2 a/w listed events and whilst they may be slightly weaker events than this I think his style of racing is better suited to a turf track like this has the form to take this already in the bag and cant see not being involved.

Yesterday did not really go to plan carrieteu completly sulked once headed he is a quirky type and needs things to drop his own way and I dont really intend to follow him again soon now if im honest,evelyn may had the draw against her in the end and probably ran as good as she possibly could.On a fair bit of a losing run now but this does happen from time to time and im happy enough with my own methods to know can soon pull things round especially with some decent racing over the next week or so.

3.00 Intresting race this at first glance it looks pretty tough to sort and although you can probably give a few chances at there best I dont think its to difficult to narrow down.Racing demon is potentialy on a fair mark even on his early season form and his course record is good but I think Sir keezbah holds the 4 horses above if recent form is anything to go by and I dont think he is a bad horse to try and asses this race from as he is pretty consistent and generally has been running to his mark withoout being good enough and I expect this will again be the case today.Made in japan has the abilty and is back to his winning mark but he is far to risky as he has not looked for a while now.a 10lb rise for devon natives win last time looks fairly harsh and she need to improve again to be involved.Sum laff could be on a fair mark and a potential improver again today,Described as a chasing type I expect this track and trip will suit better than last time and he has to be respected, my concern is though the greeness shown last time and his overall lack of experience taking on some solid handicapers I think at his current odds he can be opposed.Nemetan is 3lbs out the weights here but you can obviosuly take into the riders claim here,at first glance he looks well treated compared to his chase form but I think he has had enough chances over hurdles and for whatever reason is probably not as good,saying that he should promise lto and todays conditions will be more to his liking and I think he is likely to be involoved.The one I like most though here mauricetheathlete who has put together a couple of decent efforts recently.His run lto over this cd was in a slightly lesser grade to this but that was another solid effort and that form gives him every chance here.The jockey is the owners son and he knows the horse well enough ,I like the fact we have blinkers on and im hoping plenty use is made of the horses stamina today.

I think sometimes its important not to over complicate things and Ian aka thewaywardlad made a very good point recently about sometimes you can get lost and caught up on far to many things when trying to find that value selection.Simply for me here Vamizi has to run a big race today if in the same kind of form as most of his runs this season.The horses record round exeter is excellent and has ideal conditons again today the mark still looks fair considering his most likely opponents all have to put up a career best to beat an on form vamizi.With the double included today he is a maximum bet for myself and will be dissapointed if not involved.

As regular readers will know Im a fan of hidden keel lto was pretty simple and although giving weight to a pair of decent types will be tougher this time I still expect him to take this here.

Well I think Cool jack winning was going to happen as soon as Id made the decision that the price was just a little to short , yet again it shows how things can be about marginal calls in this game and it just tends to be that you get these wrong when you hit a bad run on the results front.again I'm short of write up time today but 2 selections who I think look fair prices an another horse that simply should win today.
3.40 windsor guilded warrior should win this today has plenty of things going for him and would be a confident pick.I don't think there is much point me putting him though at his current odds especially as I can only see him continuing to shorten

Confident of a big show here has a good record fresh and back on a nice mark like course and trip.competitive race but she should be a single figure price for me

No selections today I have not had the time to go through today's cards but a brief look says Doncaster is to difficult and Market rasen is not really a course I enjoy punting at.Limericks not a bad card and I do like jack cool i'n the 310 who looks well treated by rce conditions and should come on for his last run geraghty booked and should go well but there are a fee with decent bits of form and I would want around the 6/1 mark to be interested.

I'm struggling for time today so have to brief I'm afraid focussed on a couple of races and think I have them sorted.

Being well supported now promising run lto this track will suit and looks on a fair mark.
5.30 chep I think our bob has acracw i'n him off this mark stable in decent form again and he showed a kittle more lto.probably not a bad price but his attitude is questionable against a couple of solid improvers.

1/2pt each way kiwi bay 40/1 both bog 365 5 places
Tagleed has the perfect profile for a horse i'n this race I would not be to concerned about the trip to much because I have no doubt we are looking at a much classier horse than most of these.kiwi bay may look exposed but has his conditions today and he is the easy value pick.

Well yesterday continued my frustrating run from the 7 horses mentioned I managed to find 2 winners, 3 2nds and a 3rd put in there a horse that halved in price during the day and yet still could not find a way to return a profit for the blog.That kind of summed up march for and I end the month on the blog with a dissapointing loss of 11pts.If you take into account the fact I completly messed my cheltenham staking up and the bad luck Ive had recently things could have probably been a fair bit worse.Anyway lessons learnt and hopefully I can turn things back around in April.2 Selections for me today and im I like both of these a fair bit.
3.40 strat altan khan 11/2
4.40 strat peter pole 7/2

Rivaliste is hard to asses he could be very well treated obviously if he shows his best form but that is no gurantee at all and I think you have to take on.Ellersie tom has won round here and will like the ground but he has shown nothing in his last 2 runs and although could bounce back at any point he has done nothing to show that will be today.Dream esteem is currently fav he has solid form at a slighlty higher level and should run his race down in grade however I just dont see her well handicapped of this mark.Tatispout ran a solid race lto over this cd he ran into a well handicapped horse that day and whilst should run well again I think the third that day has better claims and should reverse the form.Altan khan has a 5lbs pull on tatispout for 3 lengths and if you also consider he made a couple of mistakes and lost his position at a vital time you have to think he can reverse form today.

Plenty I know a fair bit about here, minella theatre has the ability to win this but form has gone recnetly and has a better record fresh.Stable companion job one also goes well fresh and needs this decent ground whilst I think he should run well and would be my next bests however I think he has ran into one here.Im not sure what the issue has been with peter pole as he has not ran for over 700 days but when we did see him he showed plenty ability.He made his debut over fences at exeter and made short work of his rivals what was most notable that day was how this horse jumped,he makes a lovely shape over his fences and travels like a very nice horse.He made easy work off things winning under a penalty round a sharper track at soutwell a few days later before dissapointing at aintree.Conditions look suitable today and as he has gone well fresh before I cant see that being an issue.If the ability is still there then im sure we are going to see this horse running off a lot higher marks in months to come in some much better races than this.
