I was short of time yesterday and looking at the results I was pretty happy I ended up swerving sedgfield as the horses I was considering did not really feature.With jumps racing untill monday now and a few intresting horses entered up things should pick up over the weekend but for now its back over to ireland.

Paddy o dee is going to find this race a little easy than the one he contested last time and with the return to a right handed course a big benefit I can easily see him getting involved against a few suspect market leaders.He is likely to try and make all and with a few of these likely to let him get on with things whilst looking after themselves in the early parts he may just get away.

Ardglen has to be respected seeking the fourtimer but there is good reason to think island peak can get a little closer this time.He showed more last time up that being his second  run after a break and im hopeful that will have brought him on a bit more again.His form in points and hunter chases last season give him a decent chance at these weights now.

In the end the money came for tico and it looked for a while that he  might just have picked the winner up yesterday but it was not to be.Im sure he will win a race over 3mile on slighlty better ground but his hand has been shown now.
Dashing ruby ran a solid enough race to finish third he needs a little help with his mark.
Again no jumps in england so its off over to ireland for one today.
Tinakellyland comes back from nearly a year off but having gone well enough first time after a break before im not to concerned about this.The stable have not had to many winners over the summer but they never tend to in recent years and thats not really a worry.There are a couple here who have done well recently but they will certainly find this race tougher off higher marks whilst this is the selections easiest race for some time and im hopeful he can take advantage today.

Ive not had chance to watch yesterdays racing yet  but only the one 2nd place meaning a fairly dissapointing day big enough prices not to worry to much but I probably did make a mistake with ostland.No english jumps racing today but I have a couple at clonmel .Tico is a horse ive had noted for a while and despite me thinking there would probably be a bit more confidence in the market for him I dont want to let him run over this trip unsupported ,the jockey booking is no negative either.Dashing ruby is certainly worth a bet later on as the 2 market leaders both look plenty short enough for what they have achieved and the selction may have a bit more to come over fences.I dont know much about his jockey but he seems to have a fair bit of experience and has rode a chase winner under rules.

I'm short on time today so no write up but despite Market rasen being pretty low on my list of courses to have a bet at there is a few that i think represent a bit of value today and I don't really want to be letting them run unsupported

Thursday

Soubriquet lost the battle for the lead early on and never really looked comfortable after that,the winner did it well but id be surprised if he can win again for a while now.No real strong views on the perth card today the novice chase obviously looks a pretty decent race with champion court making his chase debut after reportedly schooled well.No doubt he will end being the best of these longterm but I just get the impression he may struggle a little today against 2 horses that may just be a little more forward than him.

I have to say this does not look the easiest race to solve but there are a couple here who have been hit pretty hard for recent wins where things have gone there way and at single figure prices they look worth taking on.

The selection finished behind black rock lake lto round Downpatrick but the winner that day looked a lot happier round the tricky course there and also arguably stole the race under a decent paul townend ride.Back on a more conventional track and with a decent enough weight turn around im hopeful first beauty can reverse that form.There is a case that she may need a little further but as long as they go a decent enough pace early and shes prominent when the pace quickens its should be no issue.

Little bit frustrated with things yesterday,transvestite was held up for some reason which I just cant understand when the horse was being dropped in trip,no way am I saying would have won but the way was stying on you would expect at least a place.combustibale lady ran a decent race to finish 3rd she seemed a little more keen though and that probably told in the end.nearby surely needs to go back hurdling before he completly loses his way.The lay on bobs law never looked in danger maybe thats the way forward.wait no more ran his race but was just not good enough on the day whilst another katy dissapointed again after making a couple of mistakes early on and is in danger of becoming a hereford specialist.

Not to much thats appealing today for me spent a while on downpatrick but cant find anything solid there so just the one small bet at perth today.

Pretty unoriginal selection goes well here winning this race last year mark is fair enough should not have to much competition for the lead and whilst a couple could be better treated on the pick of there form they lack in consitency and for that reason I would have had the selection a couple of points shorter today.

Tuesday - Newton Abbott

Well Sunday did not really go to plan in the end despite finding one winner from the 4 selections.It was a similar story to the the blog selections last seasons with price changes on one selection meaning I wanted to get the blog posted up quickly and then non runners confusing matters further. Lets hope for an improvement today.

Dream function looks the obvious place to start and id have preference for her over the ones with penalties who all look beatable.Combustible lady showed enough promise lto staying on through beaten horses from a long way back despite not having a hard time of things.That will have probably been a good experience for the mare and this slightly longer trip looks in her favour, she looks like she can out run her odds here.

Im sure there will be plenty happy to oppose nearby today as he obviously has not ran upto expectations yet over fences however his 2 runs so far are easily better than what his opposistion today have achieved and at evens+ id rather be with than against.

Bobs law is likely to have plenty use made of him but I can still see him getting caught out here back in trip round a course like this and with him now trading around the 5/4 mark id certainly be against. Of the Tim Vaughan pair I prefer the big freeze who managed to win a bumper round here lto despite looking in need of further,a nice enough type he should take to hurdling well.Run along boy is the other obvious one who is having his first run in this country he looks just the type dougie Costello does well on I think he potentially has a little more speed than a few of these and im sure he will come the travelling well and trade shorter in running,what he finds under pressure is open to question but he would be my choice in a tighter race than the market suggests.

0-19 over hurdles and plenty of seconds is not really the obvious winner finding profile but so many of these have doubts about them for whatever reason and I just think at the prices Transvestite looks worth a small investment.

Wait no more has been running pretty consistently recently and should again be able to dictyate matters here.3 of his main opponents are all coming back from a breaks and id be happy to ta take gunner rose on looking for the hat trick.nesnaas has been a little out of sorts recently but may just able to travel better over this trip now and could be involved at decent odds.

4 recent winners here and 2 round this course but if the same Another kate turns up here today im sure she is going to take some beating,she looked last time to have plenty more progression in her and I don’t think the 8lb rise looks to unfair.caddie master is the other who is likely to be open to improvement but looks priced around connections.

Sunday

The blog has taken a break recently due to the lack of jumps racing, The flat racing just seems harder and harder to keep up with each summer and I think most full time followers seem to be ready for the quieter days now and slowly the jump racing will creep into full flow.
The racing today looks pretty interesting and I’m hopeful to get things off to a decent start. I had planned to combine 3 horses at plumpton who all looked to have solid claims but are a little short to be backing as 3 singles however the one is now a non runner.

I’d be happy opposing American art despite winning his last 2 races he does have his quirks and I don’t think he is one to be taking too short a price about, Similar can be said about the foxs decree who he beat lto and comes here with a win record of 0-23 over hurdles despite having plenty of similar chances. So brilliant looks the obvious one to oppose them with on official ratings but they can never be trusted in these types of races, his recent form in Ireland is solid enough and the way races over here are ran will probably suit a little better he’s respected but looks a little short.Khorun is the one to be with I think though dropping down into selling company for the first time hes ran 2 ok races in novice chases recently to suggest he can be competitive at this level,the switch back to a left handed track is no negative and the stable do well switching horses between hurdles and fences.micheal byrne is good enough to do the job and the extra 7lbs is sure to help.

I thought I’d find a selection here as I’m pretty keen to oppose taratata sivola in a competitive handicap but the prices of the likely dangers all look about right. If pushed I would be with alasandro Mantegna who showed a little more promise lto and if getting anywhere near his form of a couple of seasons ago would be too good for these.

you can’t really be too confident here I don’t think with 2 or 3 that look open to improvement. Im sure giant o murchu is capable of winning a race like this from his current mark but first time up after a recent break when he bled is concerning. He settled better than he has on other runs 2 starts back at Folkestone and that will be the key to him again today so maybe one to get involved with it into a nice rhythm after 1 or 2 hurdles.

Edgevine is still a maiden but she has shown enough to suggest she can win a poor contest. She ran well enough lto and the step up to 3 mile today could possibly help, in a poor race at a decent price I think she’s worth a small bet. Pride of mine may come on a little for lto and looks a danger.

3.30 plum Mr hamoosh seems to be getting his act together now over hurdles a better run again lto and stable still doing well with her runners.

4.00 plum walls way has put 2 runs together over fences that give him decent claims here against what I think looks a risky favourite.

4.30 plum probably not much value here but you know what you get around here with just beware and with plenty of risks about a few here it’s hard to see not being involved.
